General Strats - StarCraft Tips

Here are some tips that should hopefully make you better.

- Always, and I stress ALWAYS use keyboard shortcuts. You'd be suprised how much faster you'll get once you've memorized all of them.
- Use the F2-F4 Key's to mark spots where there's lots of action or places that you go to a lot on a map. Hold down "Shift" and hit F2, F3, or F4 to mark a location on the map.
- Instead of just highlighting a bunch of your units, and ordering them to attack, then going back and highlighting more units and ordering them to attack, etc. Select a group of units, hold down Control, and hit 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, or 0. It will mark that group of units so that you can highlight them simply by hitting the number you assigned them to. Do this with all your attack-units and assign them all to different numbers. This way you can order all of your units to attack simotaniously with ease.
- Use waypoints when you want a unit to move to a spot, and then once it gets there, move to another spot, then go to another spot once it gets there. For example, if you wanted your unit to move around the enemy base. Hold down Shift, then right-click on the spots you want your unit(s) to move to in order.
- Whenever you hear an announcement in the game, hit the Space bar to center on the spot.
- Always put 'at least' 4 Peons to a Refinery/Extractor/Assimilator, never just 3. This is especially important for Zerg.
