Mods One of the reasons why Quake 3 is such a great game is because of the wide range of different types of Mod Packs avaliable for it. A Mod (Modification) Pack can change almost any aspect of Quake 3. Mod Packs can change or add weapons to Quake 3, they can change or add items, maps, new HUD's, and can completely change how the game is played. Here is a list of some of the good mods out there: - Quake 3 Fortress - This is one of the best team play mods there is. Very well done. Adds new depth to Capture the Flag game with 9 classes you can be, each with different weapons and abilities unique to each. - Urban Terror - Play as a modern day soldier. Has modern day weapons like machine guns and pistols, as well as new HUD, items and a new damage system. - Bid for Power - DragonballZ mod for Quake 3, looks to be Very well made. Graphics are awesome. Gameplay has been completely re-modelled to fit Dragonball syle fighting. - Navy Seals: Covert Ops - this Quake 3 mod will simulate real life modern day warfare with tons of new features and all new modern day weapons and skins. It's supposed to be better than Urban Terror. First beta release date set for July 16 2001. - Art of War - Adds RTS type eliments to Quake 3. You can now choose from different classes and build buildings, while in turn allow new classes and upgrades. Very cool. - Corkscrew - This Mod is just plain FUN. It's an IntaGib mod and all you have is a extremely upgraded and completely remade Rail Gun and your Trusty Offhand Grapple. The Rail Gun's shot is now completely 3D and explodes when it hits, and the grapple is more of a "Tarzan" type grapple, where you don't go straight towards where you shot the grapple, but you swing. It's cool, you have to try it out! - Rune - this little mod here adds a TON of different power-ups that you can get. The power ups very from increasing your health to 666, giving you invisibility, and times'ing your attack by 6. Also adds a few new weapons and Offhand grapple support! |
