Call of Duty 4 is perhaps one of the best multiplayer first person shooters. And aside from that it has a great single player story as well. Part of the reason the multiplayer is so great is due to the leveling system. As you get kills and achieve other objectives you get experience, which increases your rank. As your rank increases you gain access to new weapons and perks. There are quite a great deal of weapons and perks in the game, and you start out with only a few. It makes playing all the more rewarding.

In addition to the level system, the gameplay is superb. The levels are well sized and built to encourage all different types of fighting, from close range CQB to long range sniping. Finding games is easy, and servers range from small 16 player limits to as big as 50. When searching for servers, I recommend using a program such as Xfire, which works considerably better than the in-game server browser.
