Recreation Day
By Rogelie D. Rael

Student Activities presented its quarterly Recreation Awareness Day on Tuesday, May 10, in the Multipurpose Room of Parks Student Union. The event provided a day of fun and games for students, staff, and faculty members.

“We try to do this every year. The number of times, of course, depends on how much money we have on our budget,” said Day Mills, The Paperclip Manager/Recreation Coordinator. “Basically, it’s to remind the students and faculty that we need to take time to relax and have some fun.”

The event started with a game of Bingo, which took place 20 minutes after the hour, during every hour. Participants won small prizes such as a squirt gun, deck of cards, and Star Wars action figure.

A ping-pong table, air hockey set, and three pool tables were arranged in the center of the MPR. There was also a table where students can fill a tube full of candy rocks.

“The day was great. It’s not every day that you get to play pool in the MPR,” Brittany Armistead said. “Plus, there was free candy.” Sheraz Sheilch couldn’t agree more.
