D&E Year End Celebration-Brief By Emily McCann
The Diversity and Equity Center will be presenting their annual year end celebration. It is open to all students on May 26th from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Jackson Center.
The event will honor graduating students who participated in the Diversity and Equity Center’s programs and maintained a minimum 3.5 grade point average. There will also be a special presentation for students who participated in the Star Mentor and Student Success and Retention Programs.
The event will include traditional African and Latino music and dance, as well as a potluck of traditional food and beverages from the Asian Pacific Student Union, The Black Student Union, the MECHA Club and the United Native American Council.
Two of the many students who will be honored at this event are Pamela James for her work as president of the United Native Council, and Tesha Mitchell for her positive attitude as a work- study student.
